Calabrese Park Improvements

Est. Cost:$330,000
Project Description: The City received two (2) grants; one for for ADA and parking improvements and another for playground equipment replacement and upgrades.

 Funding:
 Grant #1: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Total funds including matching funds by the City: $150,000
Project: ADA parking and access improvements, and roadway enhancements including sidewalk and parking

Grant #2: State of California Department of Parks and Recreation Per Capita Program
Total Funds: $177,952
Project: Playground equipment and amenities replacement and upgrades

Seaside Sanitation Upgrades

There is a planned upsizing along Ortiz Ave between Contra Costa St and Holly St. You may see some potholing related to this project in the near future. More information will be forth coming.

West Bay Street Repair Project

The City has finalized the design for the repair of the West Bay beach access. Look for repairs to begin over the next several months.

Sand City Water Supply Project

The City continues to work with CalAm to construct a new well as part of our Desalination Plant. This is a project that will continue into 2021. 


Contra Costa Stormwater Improvement Project

Project Description: In addition to storm water management improvements, the project will provide multiple water resource and community benefits such as ground water supply recharge and urban greening.

Grant: State Water Resources Control Board
Total funds including matching funds by the City: $150,000

Catalina Stormwater Improvement Project

The City of Sand City is pleased to announce that our West End Stormwater Improvement Project on Catalina Street was awarded a million dollar grant for stormwater and streetscape improvements along Catalina Street. The designs are currently around 30% complete and construction should begin in early 2022.
