STORM DRAIN SYSTEM

The storm drain system within Sand City is composed of traditional street curbs and gutters, inlets, pipes, manholes, and interceptor and infiltration systems. The storm drain system captures and conveys most of the surface runoff within the City to either the interceptor and infiltration systems or discharges to the Monterey Bay via a 90-inch outfall structure located on West Bay Street in Sand City. The 90-inch outfall structure drains a portion of Sand City and a large portion of upper Seaside and is owned and maintained by the City of Seaside.

Most of the maintenance of the City’s storm drain system is performed by the Public Works Department. Maintenance of the storm water interceptor and percolation systems is performed by qualified contractors. Storm Drain System Maps are available by contacting the City Engineer.

SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM

The sanitary sewer collection system within Sand City is owned and maintained by the Seaside County Sanitation District (SCSD), which includes the Cities of Del Rey Oaks, Sand City, and Seaside. For sewer system information, system maps, or to report a sewer spill, please contact the SCSD at (831) 899-6825.
