Special Programs

PENINSULA REGIONAL VIOLENCE AND NARCOTICS TEAM – P.R.V.N.T.

The Sand City Police Department is a member of the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team. The team is dedicated to impacting narcotics, gangs, and violence on the Peninsula through a collaborative effort between local agencies. Because drugs and violence are ever present in many of our communities, it is especially important that there is mutual cooperation among departments in this aspect of law enforcement.

  • Mission: PRVNT’s goal was to suppress and investigate violent crimes and illegal drug use. It aimed to improve coordination and intelligence sharing among police departments in the region.
  • Operations: PRVNT operates from a facility in Monterey and served jurisdictions throughout the Monterey Peninsula. The team focused on proactive strategies to combat gang violence and organized crime.
