The next City of Sand City Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Municipal elections are conducted in November of even-numbered years.  The City’s elected officials include a Mayor and four City Councilmembers.

• The Mayor is elected to a two-year term.
• Councilmembers are elected to four-year terms.

Candidate Nomination Period

Nomination papers for available seats may be obtained and filed between:

July 13, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Deadline:  5:00 PM.

If an incumbent eligible for re-election does not file nomination papers by the August 7 deadline, the nomination period for non-incumbent candidates seeking that office will be extended until:

Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Deadline:  5:00 PM.

Nomination papers will be available from the City Clerk’s Office beginning July 13, 2026.
